Everlasting Love

As a parent — having once been a child — I know how hard it is to really know how much your parents love you. From the perspective of a parent, you know how much you sacrifice for your children, but I remember how I had no idea how much my parents did for me until I got older. I believe that it’s the same between us and our heavenly Father. As His children, we can find ourselves wondering about the relationship when things get rough. We might question where God’s love is when we are really hurting. But there is really only one thing that we need to bring to mind to help us understand that His love is everlasting. It is addressed in the following verses:

Romans 8:31-35
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Those of us in Christ have the greatest gift of love ever given, and there is nothing that can take it away from us. Let’s keep that in the forefront of our minds as we live this life and look forward to eternity with our Lord.
