Love Compels Us

In 2 Cor.5:14 we read, “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:” There is such compulsion and motivation in the story of God’s love for mankind. Consider how much Jesus went through to bring about our redemption. Leaving the glory and riches of heaven, 2 Cor.8:9. Living a lowly life of a servant, Phil.2:7, Matt.20:28. Then to suffer at the hands of those he had created. Consider these words, “Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.” And yes they hung him on the cross to die for OUR SINS. Yes, the love of Christ should compel us to submit and serve him. Are you compelled?
